Welcome August
August is your month. What you plant today, will harvest later.... so choose wisely!
Happy August Everyone!
Depending on where you live, winter can be a hard month for planting just about anything. In Auckland, the last few weeks included hail, thunder, wind and rain making it difficult for new growth to take place. Although difficult, still possible! As in the weather, life can be rocky sometimes too... but, unlike plants, we humans have a better chance of finding stability in it.
August is a good time to take a close look at the seeds that we planted within. Reasons for planting them and how to use them when ready for harvest. Each year can be different, sometimes we plant the same seeds and sometimes new ones. In a large way, that is exactly what yoga has always been about to me... planting seeds and allowing the growth to take place, even in a bad storm.

Top 10 true statements about Nude Yoga... in case you were wondering
Have you experienced EGO or JUDGEMENT in a typical yoga studio class… expensive yoga clothing, perfect bodies, etc?
The greatest thing about Nude Yoga is that the below quote is spot on!
“when we are naked, we are all the same”
1) Taking off your clothes for the first time will be the hardest part
2) Sexual energy is the furthest thing from anyone's mind
3) You will be nervous, AT FIRST
4) But, after the first few minutes, you will forget that your naked
5) If you tried it, come back and see how different it feels after your 2nd, 3rd and 4th class
6) See what happens to your ego, confidence, and fears outside of yoga class
7) You will soon realise that there is no such thing as a perfect body
8) Those who you consider to have the perfect body, still think they don’t
9) There are many reasons and benefits to practice nude yoga
10) Life just feels good when you experience new things
You have thought about it, so why not give it a go! RSVP before the class fills up!
Have you challenged yourself recently?
A challenge in terms of new experiences, things that might be out of your comfort zone and even interest levels?
We launched our first coed nude class this week and it sold out quickly! Next weeks class looks like the same thing is going to happen! We all have self created rules that exist deep within ourselves, sometimes their from our parents, how we were raised, life experiences or from wherever. When you challenge these internal rules, you will be surprised what transitions start to occur in your mind and thinking. All the sudden new and different possibilities start to pop up that never existed before.
Auckland Nude Yoga is about creating the space for new things, mindfulness and developing stronger levels of comfort (we all have demons and things that keep the mind turning). Read our FAQ's, guidelines and sign up for one of our classes.
Welcome to June!

Coed Classes & Back to Westmere Studio Soon
Yogis & Yoginis,
We are back on, with more classes and now a weekly coed class (based on enough demand). Here are 3 important updates.
- For the next 3 weeks, our mens class will take place at the Grey Lynn Community Centre on Richmond Rd in the Balcony room (which is up the stairs and to the right). These next 3 classes will start at 7:30pm on Tuesday. Space is very limited, so please make sure you book to reserve a spot.
- As of 14 June, we will be back at our Westmere studio for a Mens Class at 6:00pm - 6:55pm and NOW a COED class right after at 7:00pm - 7:55pm.
- Class information and your ability to RSVP for these classes have been updated on the website. Click here to book now!
The Universe provides
Yogis & Yoginis,
When youa have trust in the universe, the universe provides! This Tuesday I will become a New Zealand Citizen (with so much pride and excitement), so our mens Tuesday class will be canceled for the week.
The good news is that we are back on for mens yoga on the 24 May (at a slightly different time and location).
Check the AKLnYoga website in a few days as I will update the location details soon. I'm still in the process of confirming the venue, but it will most likely be the Grey Lynn Community Centre on Richmond Rd). The bad news is that I don't think we can fit more then 11 people per class. So it's very important to RSVP... I only have 5 slots left for next Tuesdays class, so make sure you register.
I'm also trying to get us back into our Westmere location in about 6 weeks. Hoping we can be back on Tuesdays for a 6:15 mens class. I'm attempting to organise a second class that evening for a coed yoga class (to start around 7:15).
On Friday, I did a little interview with the Herrald, and they asked if anyone (any of you) would be interested in having a few photos taken during a special class that I would host (no face or other parts included). If interested, please send me an email and if you want to read the Herrald article, click here.
I love receiving your comments and questions, so please continue to send them.
